001. The Courage to Begin
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great — Zig Ziglar
Hi Wanderer,
There’s something magical about beginnings, but for the longest time, I have hesitated to start. I’ve always cringed at the idea of sharing anything I’ve wholeheartedly created, especially when it feels personal. In my head, I needed to know what I was doing before I could even think about sharing. Perfectionism held me back, whispering, “Not yet. You’re not read. It's not ready. Are you sure about this?”
But here’s the thing: waiting for the perfect moment is an endless game. The truth is, that perfect moment doesn’t exist—not in the way we imagine it. The perfect time is a concept borrowed from eternity, there's no such thing as perfect weather, perfect outcome, perfect timing—to start. We keep on giving ourselves excuses that even sound valid in the moment too, then end up not taking the leap.
Our lives are filled with a lot of laters. Later just becomes another word for never - Sahil Bloom
The Reward of Trying
I’ve realized that regardless of what happens, whether I succeed or not, the act of trying is the most rewarding part. It doesn't have to be perfect. Giving something a shot means stepping into the unknown, embracing vulnerability, and creating a chance for growth. Without that start, growth will never exist.
Also, Ideas gain depth when we share them. They evolve through meaningful and intentional conversations, through the perspectives of others. Keeping them locked away in our minds may feel safer, comforting and grounding, even, but it also limits their potential.
For someone like me, who feels equally drawn to so many passions, emphasis on so many passions, starting can feel overwhelming. At times, these many passions might disguise themselves as a reason not to begin because of the unsettling feeling of not knowing what to prioritise. It's like I want to do so many things, so I end up doing nothing.
Maybe there's a beauty in that, having this blank canvas where a single brush stroke has unimaginable possibilities, all dependent on the next brush stroke, and the next...but it's up to me to channel those possibilities into what resonates with me, what sets my heart ablaze. In the same way, despite the so many passions that make my heart move faster, i must pursue with purpose—what matters most.
That’s where this space comes in. Think of it as a commonplace book, a collection of what matters to me, ideas that spark my train of thought, a way to capture the noise, filter it, and hold onto the ideas that resonate. I want to keep it raw, imperfect, and full of curiosity and reflection. And hopefully have meaningful conversations on here too.
So here’s my imperfect beginning. A messy, honest attempt at trying and sharing. It might not be perfect, but it’s mine.
What Are You Waiting For?
If you’ve been holding back, waiting for the perfect moment, let this be your sign. Start messy. Start raw. Start uncertain. Just start!
Because the most rewarding part isn’t perfection—it’s the fact that you tried!

Have I told you? I’m proud of you!
